Parking Lot and Street Paving on the Fairfax Campus

In late June and throughout July, various campus roadways and parking areas will be milled and paved. The following is a tentative schedule, which is subject to change based on weather and existing conditions.

Sidewalks around campus will also undergo repairs during July and August. Pay attention to posted signage regarding closures and detours.

June 24 to July 5: One lane closure with flag men directing traffic from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday because of Fairfax Water’s paving repairs at the intersection of Campus Drive and Rapidan River Road. Outside of these hours, the intersection will be marked as a four-way stop. Please use caution. There will also be paving repairs on Campus Drive between the Field House and Route 123 underpass.

June 24–28: Drainage ditches will be repaired along Patriot Circle between Campus Drive and Lot I. (Update as of 6/24/19)

June 24–25: The Washington Lot (off Shenandoah River Lane near Presidents Park) and the lot in front of the Aquatic and Fitness Center will be closed to be sealed and coated.

June 25–26: The Art and Design Lot (off Patriot Circle) and the Eastern Shore Lot (off Patriot Circle) will be closed to be sealed and coated seal coated.

June 27 to July 3: Lot A West (in front of EagleBank Arena between Mattaponi River Lane and Lot L) will be closed to be milled, paved, and striped. Parking will be available in Lot A East (section closest to Lot C) as well as General Lots C, L, and K.

June 30 to July 9: Nottoway River Lane, Po River Lane, Mattaponi River Lane, and the EagleBank Arena Administrative Lot will have alternating one-way traffic while being milled, paved, and striped.

July 2–5: The Johnson Center loading dock will be open for deliveries but closed to parking because of milling and paving.

July 2–7: Roberts House Parking Lot will be closed for milling, paving, and striping.

July 3–11: Lot J will be closed for milling. Mason Pond Drive west of the traffic circle will be open with alternating one-way traffic.

July 7–13: No parking on Mason Pond Drive, with traffic to Mason Pond Deck only, because of repaving.  Patriot Circle in front of the RAC and University Drive near Merten Hall will be milled on July 7-8 at night, paved on July 11-12 at night, and striped on July 13.

July 13–14: Patriot Circle, in front of Merten Hall and the Rappahannock Parking Deck will be milled, paved, and striped.

July 14–16: Buchanan Hall Parking Lot will be closed for repaving. Alternate disabled parking spaces will be located on Mason Park Drive.

July 20: The Hub Loading Dock will be closed while it’s milled, paved, and striped.
