Parking and Traffic Advisory: Nov. 4–8

Posted: November 1, 2019 at 10:41 am

Three events next week on the Fairfax Campus are likely to have significant impacts on traffic and parking:

  1. Monday, Nov. 4: Democratic Presidential Candidate Andrew Yang is hosting a campaign event at 6 p.m. at the Center for the Arts. This is not a university event. Doors open at 5 p.m.
  2. Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. is the men’s basketball home opener vs. Navy at EagleBank Arena. Doors open at 6 p.m.
  3. Friday, Nov. 8: A section of Lot A closest to Nottoway River Lane and Patriot Circle will be closed for the first Mason Tailgate prior to the men’s basketball game at 7 p.m. vs. Longwood. For details go to: si.gmu.edu/tailgating.

Shenandoah Deck (Levels 4 and 5) will be open to overflow general permit and event parking beginning at 5 p.m. on these weeknights. To avoid arena parking and traffic impacts, parking in Rappahannock River Deck is strongly suggested.

During arena events, drivers should allow additional travel time to and from campus and avoid the southern end of campus near EagleBank Arena and Braddock Road. Extra time should be allowed if using Mason Shuttles.

For more information about events at EagleBank Arena, go to eaglebankarena.com.
