Mason E-Files Alert: WNBA Traffic and Parking Impacts Sept. 9 to Sept 14

Significant traffic and parking impacts are expected on the Fairfax Campus on Wednesday, Sept. 12, and Friday, Sept. 14, when the Washington Mystics face the Seattle Storm in the WNBA Finals at EagleBank Arena. Tip-off for both games is scheduled for 8 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. Expect event traffic up to two hours before doors open.

Shenandoah Deck, Levels 4 and 5, will be open to overflow, general and event parking, beginning at 5 p.m. To avoid arena parking and traffic impacts, parking in Rappahannock River Deck is strongly suggested.

Also, beginning Monday, Sept. 10, various spaces in Lot A will be closed in support of the Finals. On Tuesday, Sept. 11 and Thursday, Sept. 13, the roof of the Rappahannock River Deck will be open all day as limited overflow general permit parking.

During game days it is strongly recommended to allow extra time commuting to and from campus and avoid the southern end of campus off Braddock Road near EagleBank Arena. Expect delays on Mason Shuttle routes.

General admission tickets are available for only $5 each at the EagleBank Arena box office for Mason faculty, staff, and students. Mason ID required at time of purchase. For more information, visit or

Additionally, Washington Gas will close one lane on eastbound Braddock Road approaching Campus Drive for the next eight weeks. Lane closures will occur Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. Expect delays and consider alternate routes to campus.
