It’s nice to know that GMU is saving a few trees in one location of the campus but completely stripping the land on other parts. The immediate concern as the new hotel and conference center and the land adjacent to Rt. 123. What are GMU’s plans for restoring the land and forest on that part of the campus? More generally, as a neighbor of GMU, I am concerned about GMU’s lack of a good neighbor policy and lack of transparency. Where can one find the site plan to the hotel? Is the clearing of the land compliant with the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act? Is the closure of the sidewalk along 123 and lengthy detour compliant with the Americans With Disability Act? What are GMU’s plans for an access road from 123 to the hotel–information from the web site seems to be inconsist with what was provided to VDOT.
