September 2012 Updates
Road Changes & Enhancements
Roanoke River Lane
The Roanoke River Lane entrance is now reopen and functioning but will continue to be under construction until December 2012. Use alternative routes as described in this previous post.
Braddock Road
Construction is estimated to begin at the end of September 2012 and will impact Braddock Road eastbound and westbound traffic. Continue to check Building Patriot Pride for updates.
Building Changes & Enhancements
The Commons renovations were complete in time for August move-in.
Fine Arts Building Renovation
Renovations will this academic calendar year. Classes are scheduled to resume Summer 2013.
The HUB Storefront replacement is under construction and is scheduled to be complete during the fall semester.
Southside Dining Bridge
The Southside Dining bridge will see a makeover during the coming months as furniture is being added to the patio. This is scheduled to be completed during fall semester.
SUB I Dining
Taco Bell and Jazzman’s have relocated to SUB I near Chick-Fil-A’s current location. The (old) Taco Bell location has been replaced with the Hot Spot in the Johnson Center. Taco Bell will be reopened September 17, 2012.
New Additions
Einstein’s Bagels
Einstein’s Bagels in the Engineering Building is scheduled to be complete by October 2012 and construction on its location in University Hall is underway with an estimated completion of November 2012.
Beacon Hall (Prince William Campus)
Beacon Hall, the new residence hall on the Prince William Campus, is scheduled to be occupied by October 2012.
Hazel Hall (Arlington Campus)
The building will be adding a fitness center by 2013. More details to come.
UPS construction in University Hall is complete and has been open since the beginning of September 2012.
