July 2012 Updates
Road Changes & Enhancements
Aquia Creek Lane
Construction is nearing completion and is now open to the public.
Patriot Circle
Students, faculty and staff should note that re-striping of Patriot Circle will be taking place during July and August. Delays are possible during this time.
Roanoke River Lane
Re-signaling of the Braddock Road entrance, Roanoke Road lighting, and widening of lanes and turn lanes will be taking place beginning July 18. Expect delays and road closures during this time. See previous post for more information.
Building Changes & Enhancements
The Commons renovations continue with re-occupancy scheduled for completion by August move-in.
Fine Arts Building Renovation
Renovation will continue this summer into next academic calendar year. Classes are scheduled to resume Summer 2013.
The HUB Storefront replacement will be continuing this month with a scheduled completion of mid-August.
The North and South Chesapeake Modules
The Modules behind Fenwick Library have been demolished and final grading improvements are being completed.
Southside Dining Bridge
The Southside Dining bridge will see a makeover during the coming months as furniture is being added to the patio. This is scheduled to be completed by fall semester.
Taco Bell and Jazzman’s
Taco Bell and Jazzman’s will be relocating to SUB I near Chick-Fil-A’s current location. The Taco Bell location will remain vacant as renovations are pending for the Johnson Center.
New Additions
Front Royal Housing and Dining Facility
Front Royal Housing and Dining Facility will be finished in August, expanding residential housing by another 120 beds.
Panda Express is now open in University Hall.
UPS construction is underway and scheduled for completion by mid-August.
